The first Paige 1912 dress, seamlessly hit the runway in Milan like it belonged there.  While the creation of the dress, from my perspective, felt a lot more turblulent than the confidence it presented on the runway.

As I have said for a few years now, “dresses are on my radar”.  While I have gone so far as to purchase fabric for said dresses, nothing has come of the promise. As he wheels of Milan started to turn, a dear friend nudgingly asked, “is this when the dress makes a debit?”.  It felt like the right time to hold my own feet to the fire and make this dress a reality.  I have in the past made dresses, a couple for Lethbridge Fashion Week and a wedding dress for a friend who trusted me with the task (and I am so thankful she did).

My hope for this garment was and is much like everything else we make with priorities in functionality, versatility and timeless style.  Denim is my default and I love a two tone look, thus the fabric selection I kept in my wheel house.  The lighter denim yoke on the back is balanced with a ‘faux yoke’ in the front.  In other words the angular placement of the pockets creates the illusion of the front yoke, especially when suggested with the back yoke.  Those sample edgy angles are found in the two tone cuffs.

Our shirts are known for the Functional Fit and that starts in the garment fitting properly through the shoulders.  I felt maintaining this elegance was a classy of way of showing the curves of a lady without showing the curves of a lady.  The dress is a knee length, pending height, garment that pairs well with boots, heels and any accessory variety the lady chooses.  This dress also hits the versatile goal, while it easily is dressed up with certain styling, it can be worn as a more day to day style.
